Carol "Jean" Fink age 75, on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 of Carrick.
Daughter of the late Mary Jane and Charles Rymniak.
Beloved Wife of the late Fred W. Fink, Jr.
Cherished mother of Joanne (Tom) Einloth, Susan (Keith) Scherba, Fred W. (Debbie) Fink, III, Peggy (Doug) Tice, Michael (Cindy) Fink and the late Matthew E. Fink.
Loving Grandmother of Stephanie Einloth, Lisa (Ben) Skwortz, Paige Scherba, Fred (Rickie) Fink IV, Nicole Fink, Ashley Fink, Melissa Mowry, Mandy (Bobby) Ehrenberger and Melanie Tice.
Great Grandmother of Fred Fink V, Gabe Fink, Mattie Skwortz, Sylvia Skwortz, Finnegan and Emerson Davis-Martin.
Mom was an integral part of changing the PGH School Board from an appointed position to an elected position. The caveat was that the job would not be a paid position. She served on the board for 33 years. She was passionate about kids, education and neighborhood schools. She was also an active member of the Carrick Community. She served on community council and was an active member of the democratic committee. She was one of the founders of the annual Halloween parade and the Corn Fest. She worked tirelessly for her community. She found time for all of this and still was an ever attentive Mom to us all. She worked the concession stand at Volunteers Field to many times to count. She encouraged us kids to play sports and tried to make each and every game. She never finished high school, opting to get married and start her family. She acquired her GED after her 4th child was born. She was an accomplished seamstress. She could make anything you wanted, and she did! She also was an avid gardener, growing everything we needed. She canned everything she could and even made homemade pickles and sauerkraut. Her baking skills also surpassed that of a novice. Learning as she went she became quite known for it all! She has passed some of those talents to us girls, especially the baking!
She was a selfless Mother, putting us first always. She was a devoted wife and her grandchildren adored her to pieces. She loved to play poker, go to bingo and the casino. But her most favorite thing of all was being behind Fred on the Harley and taking a nice long day trip. I am sure he was at the Pearly Gates with his bike waiting for her. Rest In Peace Mama, we will love you forever.
