Josephine C. Olup passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at age 94. She spent her final days with family, resting comfortably at her granddaughter’s home. Josie/Nan, as she was affectionately called, had a beautiful Saturday listening to her favorite Andrea Bocelli, praying the rosary and being comforted by fond memories. Born in McKees Rocks, PA to the late Joseph Jasak and Mary Cecinsky, Josephine was a beloved sister to Mary Suchanec, Rose Bond, John Jasak, Joseph Jasak, Helen Putas, Anna Meredith and Dolores Abbott. Predeceased by her husband Bernard S. Olup and daughter Madeline Cieslak. Survived by her son, David B. Olup, granddaughters Jessica Cieslak, Megan Cieslak-Mazza, Deanna Whitt and Natalie Olup and her great-grandsons Carson P. Whitt and Lincoln Hays Hackel.
Josephine retired as a Dietician from Jefferson Hospital and was a lifelong Prince of Peace Parishioner with years of support making pierogies and playing bingo. She loved to listen to her polkas, Andrea Bocelli and Frankie Blue Eyes. Josie was known for her genuine smile, infectious laugh and caring heart. You couldn't stop to see her without being offered a home-cooked meal and despite her petite frame, Josie loved to eat! She always enjoyed a good story, big laughs and spending her time with family and friends. A hard worker, devoted to her family and one tough cookie, we'll miss you Lums!
The family would like to thank Nanny’s Heritage Manor Angels for their compassionate care and love for Josie.
