Mel, you were the closest thing to a grandfather my siblings and I had and we will be forever grateful for that. You were the sweetest, most kind hearted man and you made my grandma so happy for so many years. You will be so missed.

I remember all those years looking out my window on a cold winter day and seeing you waiting outside in a warm car to take my mom to work so she wouldn't freeze waiting for a bus.that is love.simple easy and caring for others is the best way for me describe what I think of you. you are family. we love you.
